Joel Pearson has announced that he will take part in his first full season in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2019 with Elite Motorsport.
Pearson made his debut in the category in 2018, competing in the final three rounds at Rockingham, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
He impressed with a best finish of 12th and went on to have a competitive outing in the winter series.
The 14-year-old will now race in his first full season partnering Tom Emson and James Hedley at Elite Motorsport.
Speaking of his new deal Pearson said, “I am looking forward to the 2019 Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship and building on the pace I had in the Winter Series, qualifying as the fastest rookie. Elite Motorsport have history of developing winning drivers and I know that we are going to be a competitive package this year.”
Team Principal, Eddie Ives said, “I am pleased to announce Joel as one of our rookie contenders for 2019. We have had a fantastic winter testing programme and it’s great to see Joel’s progress. His aim is to win the Rookie title for 2019 and we will be working hard to make this a reality.”
The Ginetta Junior series gets underway on the 6th April at Brands Hatch.
