Brett Lidsey has announced that he will return to the Clio Cup for a second season, racing with MRM.
Lidsey’s first Clio Cup campaign ended with a best race result of 5th place and 13th position in the Drivers’ standings.
With some added experience the 27-year-old is aiming to challenge for regular podium finishes in 2019.
“I really like the MRM set-up and it’s fantastic to keep the continuity of working with Mike (Ritchie) again.” said Lidsey.
“Obviously, having two quick team-mates in Jack Young and Ben Davis is great and I’m confident we can all do an excellent job together this season. I’d love to start getting podiums on a regular basis and that’s the aim for my second full year in the championship.”
Lidsey had a good season finale in 2018 racing with MRM in the Clio Cup “World Final” at Paul Ricard and Team Principal, Mike Ritchie is excited to have a strong line-up for the team’s 2019 campaign.
Ritchie said, “Brett’s inclusion in our line-up for 2019 gives us another very capable driver and crucially ensures continuity for us.”
“We’ve worked with Brett for several years now know what he wants and vice-versa. We also saw some great development from him in 2018 and I’m sure he can be pushing for podiums every time out this season.”
