Sam Tordoff topped the timesheet of the afternoon BTCC season launch test on Wednesday clocking a fastest time of 47.927s.
Tordoff’s time was a tenth faster than the pole position time of the 2018 Brands Hatch Indy round and he finished 0.110s ahead of Tom Chilton in the Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher Ford Focus.
Chilton was closely followed by Dan Cammish, Andrew Jordan and Rory Butcher who were all within 0.06s of each other.
Tom Ingram was sixth fastest in his new Toyota Corolla and 2018 champion Colin Turkington was 11th fastest with a time of 48.309s.
Jack Goff, who has made a surprise return to the series after having previously announced he would not be racing in 2019 finished 16th overall, just half a second down on Tordoff’s benchmark.
Plato and Collard who have both joined PMR for 2019 finished up 19th and 24th respectively and newcomer, Mark Blundell set a fastest time of 48.863s to end the session 23rd fastest.
