FE: Formula E Reveals Gen2 EVO Car

Formula E and the FIA have today revealed the Season 7 and 8 Gen2 EVO Formula E Car.

As with Season 3 of Formula E, the aerokit has been granted an upgrade to keep the car looking futuristic and aggressive.

The major differences to the current Gen2 Car include a reprofiled front wing, aggressive-looking new dorsal fin and a curved rear wing.

There is a very distinctive difference between the Gen1 Formula E Car and the Gen2 that currently races.

With the added shark fin and rear wing, the new Gen2 EVO car looks more aggressive and futuristic as the championship progresses into an official world championship from Season 7.

FIA President Jean Todt said; “I am pleased that as it transitions to world championship status, we see a further evolution of the Gen2 car – the Gen2 EVO – with an exciting new look.

“It is this progressive approach that has contributed to the expansion of the grid and increasing competitiveness of the championship, which continues to go from strength to strength and which is paving the way for the future of sustainable urban mobility.”

Alejandro Agag, Chairman and former CEO of Formula E, said “As we did with the first-generation car, the Gen2 EVO has been given reprofiled bodywork to make it look more sleek and agile.

“Its futuristic design once again showcases Formula E as the category for innovation in both technological advances and appearance.”

Currently only very high quality renders are available with the first public appearance being on the 3rd March at the Geneva Motor Show.

The first race will be the start of Season 7 at the end of 2020.
