Mercedes has revealed a revised livery for their 2020 Formula 1 challenger after acquiring INEOS as a major sponsor for the upcoming season.
The new Mercedes W11 will predominantly look the same to last year’s car, but with INEOS coming onboard in a much larger capacity, after signing a multi-year sponsorship contract with Mercedes, some alterations have been made.
As part of the alterations, the inner front endplates and airbox are now red, while INEOS’ logo will also appear of the rear wing endplate..
The engine cover still retains the silver stars that first featured last year, and the single red star, paying homage to Niki Lauda who died last year, also remains on the car.
The new livery was shown on Mercedes’ 2019 car, with the 2020 spec due to be unveiled on Friday when the team undertakes a shakedown of the W11 at Silverstone.
Mercedes are the second team to unveil their 2020 livery after Haas unveiled their new colour scheme last week.
