McLaren has become the latest team to reveal their 2020 Formula 1 challenger, after unveiling their MCL35 at an event at the team’s factory in Woking.
The team enters its second season with Renault engines and has retained their orange papaya and blue colours from last season, but the design has been tweaked with the paint now featuring a matte finish.
The blue now runs down the side of the car, along the sidepods, as well as along the top of the engine cover, while the sponsors are aligned along the top of the sidepods.
McLaren had a strong season in 2019, finishing fourth in the constructors’ championship, and will be hoping to maintain that position this season whilst also closing the gap to the top three teams.
Speaking about the new season, McLaren CEO Zak Brown said: “I’m immensely proud of the entire team today.
“Last season we delivered what we set out to do – secure a hard-fought fourth in the Constructors’ Championship.
“Our positive on-track momentum and the renewed energy in the team has seen us grow our valued partner family and global fan base and we look forward to a hugely competitive season.
“Whilst we are enjoying going racing again, we remain measured and focused, and all of us at McLaren keep pushing forward fearlessly.”
The team has an unchanged line-up for 2020 with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris remaining with the Woking-based squad for another season.
