Team Redline have revealed their driver lineup for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual race on June 13-14.
In its 18-year history, Redline Esports are one of the most iconic names in the sim-racing world.
For the virtual event, they will have the #20 car to race under their own name as well as two other collaborations with WEC LMP2 team JOTA Sport to form JOTA Team Redline.
Formula 1 stars Lando Norris (McLaren F1) and Max Verstappen (Aston Martin Red Bull Racing) have made numerous sim-racing (endurance) appearances for Team Redline, amongst their extensive selection of drivers.
Recent appearances together include the iRacing Nurburgring 24H and multiple iRacing Le Mans 24H attendances.
Max also competed in the Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC) to claim a win at Silverstone in an LMP2 car, held on rFactor 2.
Norris has made a name for himself on Twitch (a live-streaming platform) with over 10 million views and over 4500 followers, where he streams his virtual races and more.
Needless to say, Max Verstappen has been one of the talented young stars in Formula 1 having claimed 8 wins and 31 podium finishes for Red Bull Racing.
In a past interview with a Dutch media outlet, Verstappen stated his favouring towards the handling model of rFactor 2, as will be the gaming platform this event will take place on.
The duo of specialist sim-racers that will join Max and Lando in the #20 will be:
- Atze Kerkhof
- Greger Huttu
As sim-drivers and co-managers at Team Redline, they will work together with Max and Lando to fight for the win in the dense LMP2 category of 30 cars.
