In a test at Silverstone, Lando Norris is taking to the track to get familiar with driving a car before the F1 season kicks off in a months time in Austria.
There is no official test for Formula 1 before the season finally begins with the Barcelona test in February being the only taste of the 2020 F1 cars these drivers will have.
In the longest gap between races ever in Formula 1, from December 1st last year to July this year, it is fair to say the drivers will be a little out of sync with the process.
Many drivers who have been able to have taken to the kart track to brush up on their core racing skills with drivers such as Kevin Magnussen and Pierre Gasly showing off their testing on social media.
Norris has a good relationship with Carlin coming up the junior single seater ranks winning races with them in British F3, Renault Eurocup, European F3 and F2 before stepping up into F1 with McLaren in 2019.
Norris has been one of the most active drivers in the Sim Racing and Esports scene since the lockdown measures took effect from March and has raced across many different disciplines including the F1 Virtual GPs, V8 Supercars, Indycar esports and in the upcoming Virtual Le Mans which will be getting live coverage all through the race on Last-Lap.
As the season gets ever closer and lockdown restrictions become more and more relaxed globally, expect to see many more drivers out trying to rehone their craft to try and gain any advantage they can when racing returns come July.
