Tom Dillman in the #4 ByKolles kept the lead until he faced a drive-through penalty for jumping the start and Alonso faced an early retirement.
Dillman fell down to 17th after serving a drive-through-penalty on lap 7 and lost his lead to Kelvin Van Der Linde in the #30 E-Team WRT who was being closely chased by Stoffel Vandoorne in the #16 Veloce Esports 2.
The #14 FA/RB Allinsports driven by two-time Le Mans champion Fernando Alonso made it up to P10 from P13 but was caught amongst contact with the Simona De Silvestro in the #94 Porsche Esports.
The Spaniard pitted to serve a 1 second stop-and-go penalty but then found himself repairing the damage for half an hour and fell over 10 laps down from the front runners.

Neel Jani of the Porsche Esports team battled hard with Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc and eventually made it past for tenth place.
Nicki Thimm of the #95 Aston Martin Racing fought well but made a mistake to collide against a barrier and was left in P5, in the shadow of the Porsches.
