DS Techeetah’s Antonio Felix Da Costa obliterates the field to take the first Berlin pole position by more than three tenths of a second.
The championship leader topped the session from his first lap in Group 1 and stayed top until Super-Pole started before absolutely destroying everyone else’s chances and taking the four points for pole.
It will be a DS Techeetah front row with reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne lining up alongside his teammate in second.
Third place went to Andre Lotterer which is a competitive spot ahead of the race for Tag Heuer Porsche.
Sebastien Buemi will start in fourth for Nissan with Nyck De Vries and Jerome D’Ambrosio rounding out fifth and sixth.
Sam Bird qualified seventh, only just missing out on a Super-Pole appearance. Oliver Rowland qualified in eighth but will take a 20 place grid penalty which will cause him to start from the back row of the grid.
Championship contender Mitch Evans will therefore start eighth, the second highest of the Group 1 challengers with Felipe Massa and Robin Frijns behind to complete the top ten.
Alex Lynn on his return to Formula E will start in 11th for Mahindra. Max Gunther is 12th with other returnee Rene Rast in 13th.
In 14th place will be ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Edoardo Mortara with Stoffel Vandoorne behind just edging Alex Sims.
Neel Jani continued his poor qualifying form, starting in 17th with the lead NIO of Oliver Turvey in 18th. Nico Muller and Lucas Di Grassi line up 19th and 20th.
Daniel Abt on his first race with NIO 333 will start 21st alongside debutant Sergio Sette Camara who had a scruffy lap in his first ever Formula E qualifying session.
James Calado qualified last but faces a 60-place grid penalty which ruins his race before it begins with the places that can’t be penalised converted to time penalties as well.
The first Berlin E-Prix is at 19:00 CEST and 18:00 BST to start the mega run of six races in nine days to round off the Formula E championship.
