Formula E has confirmed that Season 7 will still start on the 16th January in Santiago but that will now consist of a double header in Chile.
The second race will take place on the 17th before the world championship moves to Saudi Arabia for another double header on the 26th-27th February.
The original calendar planned for a much earlier round in Saudi Arabia as well as E-Prix in Mexico and Sanya in that time.
With the constantly changing world situation, Formula E has taken measures to make the calendar more flexible and to remove commitments already in place.
The Santiago event will be behind closed doors but there are attempts underway to have the Saudi rounds with a crowd present.
In a statement, Formula E said: “In all decision-making we prioritise the health and safety of our staff and the entire Formula E community of teams, manufacturers, partners, drivers and fans, as well as the citizens and residents of the cities in which we race.
“Formula E will continue to work with local authorities to monitor the situation and is in constant communication with its community of teams, manufacturers, partners, broadcasters and drivers.
“The next set of races will be confirmed in early 2021. All calendar updates are subject to approval of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.”
Testing for Formula E Season 7 is due to get underway as usual in Valencia in November with all teams present with getting a season going in 2021 a high priority.
