Butel moves to EXCELR8 Trade Price Cars for 2021 BTCC season

Jack Butel has confirmed that he has a seat with the EXCELR8 Trade Price Cars team for the length of the 2021 BTCC campaign.

The Jersey-based driver had a strong rookie season driving for Ciceley Motorsport in 2020, with multiple points finishes and ultimately coming third in the Jack Sears Trophy, just 10 points behind second-placed Carl Boardley.

Butel was commented how he is “grateful to Ciceley Motorsport for giving me the opportunity to race in the BTCC this year”.

However, Butel has changed outfits for the coming season and hopes to prove himself even more this year with a strong platform underneath him in the form of the Hyundai i30N.

The i30N package was proven strong last year by his new team EXCELR8 with two second place finishes at Donnington Park, and Knockhill respectively.

He continued: “…I feel like this is the right move for me.

“EXCELR8 Trade Price Cars is a young team with a lot of potential and I believe that together we can score some great results next year.”

For the 2021 season, an additional 2 cars are being built as part of the merge with Trade Price Cars which will eliminate the need for the Audi S3 platform.

Therefore, taking the team’s roster to 4 cars and 4 drivers. This will be a boost for the team with proven talent with the likes of Butel filling one of those seats.

Team Owner of EXCELR8 Trade Price Cars, Justina Williams, added how delighted they are to have Butel in their seat for the coming year.

“His vast experience in lower categories and last season’s strong showing in the BTCC made him a hot topic for many teams, we’re delighted to have him on board for our campaign.”

The first round of the 2021 BTCC campaign will take place at Brands Hatch (Indy) on April 3-4, 2021.
