Josh Cook and Michael Crees will race once again at the BTC Racing team for the 2021 British Touring Car Championship season.
Cook will enter his third season driving for the BTC Racing team in the Honda Civic Type R FK8.
The 29-year-old was a contender for the title of the 2020 season to eventually secure ninth in the overall standings.
“We had a difficult start to 2020 but we hit the second half of the year with three wins, multiple fastest laps, and a pole position – we were back where we should have been,” Cook reflected.
Despite misfortunes that edged him out of the title fight, he managed to claim three victories and another podium at Donington Park – this secured sixth in the Independents’ Trophy standings.
His first year with BTC Racing also showcased identical statistics with three wins and four podiums during 2019.
“With the new management structure recently announced at BTC Racing, we are all even more determined to keep pushing forwards.”
Michael Crees once again joins him as a teammate in what will be his second BTCC season and his fifth year racing in cars.
BTC Team Principal Steve Dudman said:
“Michael really did come of age as a driver last year in his first season with us at BTC Racing, and when you consider he only started racing cars in 2017, his progress has been outstanding.”
As the most recent winner of the Jack Sears Trophy, Dudman aims optimistically for the 36-year-old to secure regular points finishes and become more of a threat to the top-10.
“It makes absolute sense for us to continue to work together (him and Cook) to develop the team,” added Crees.
“…I have learnt so much from him (Josh Cook), which massively developed me as a driver.
“I am buzzing and really looking forward to racing the same car for a second season, for the first time in my career.”
The first round of the 2021 season commences on April 3-4 at Brands Hatch Indy.
