Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan got underway with testing their new platform, the BMW 3 Series, last week at Donnington park.
The pair will be driving for Ciceley Motorsport in the British Touring Car Championship throughout the 2021 campaign.
The North West-based team are switching to the BMW 3 series saloon, however, all of their testing so far has been in a BMW 125i M Sport formerly driven by Carl Boardley in 2020.
Morgan said: “I really enjoyed it, the track eventually dried enough to the point where I could go out on slicks.
“There was some standing water and the track was very green, but I enjoyed driving a RWD car for the first time in a while.”
The team used the 1 Series to allow the drivers to acclimatise to rear-wheel drive from of front-wheel drive, which is what both drivers had last year.
Morgan completed 45 laps of the national circuit in the morning session, under primarily wet conditions.
The track slowly dried up but could not fully do so due to the bitter temperatures.
Following a seat and control panel adjustment, Ciceley Motorsport’s new signing and experienced race winner, Tom Chilton, was drove the afternoon session.
Chilton was out on slicks for the entire session and clocked up 50 total laps.
The next testing session for Ciceley Motorsport will be at Snetterton on January 28th.
Both drivers were content with how the car was handling and responding to their inputs.
Morgan, Chilton and the whole team will continue to adjust if they are to carry the same confidence and speed into their new BMW 3 Series package.
