Caroline Grifnée, former colleague of DAMS Racing in FR 3.5, GP2 and FE has passed away, according to the DAMS’ social media.
She was recruited first by the late DAMS founder Jean-Paul Droit to assist general manager François Ciscard in their Formula Renault 3.5 and GP2 campaigns.
A statement by the Nissan e.Dams Formula E team via social media said:
“We are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our friend and former colleague Caroline Grifnée, who joined us as Team Manager in 2014.”
“She was extremely popular within the team and in the paddock.”
Grifnée joined the maiden season of Formula E in 2014, with the e.Dams-Renault racing team.
The team went onto secure three constructors’ titles and engaged in several fights for the race win.
She was also a racing driver with recent commitments in historic races after DAMS, in the likes of Le Mans Classic, FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship, and more in the past six years.
The statement concludes: “Our sincere condolences to her family and friends from the Driot family and the whole team.
“She will be deeply missed. RIP Caro.”
