Multiple BTCC race winner Ollie Jackson moves from Motorbase to MB Motorsport for the 2021 season.
The 36-year-old enters his tenth British Touring Car Championship season with a switch of teams and partners Jake Hill at MB Motorsport.
Jackson said: “Last year was a really memorable one for me and I’m determined to build on that this year.
“I got on really well with the Ford Focus ST and now have the opportunity to take that success to another level in 2021.”
The driver from Whitechapel is familiar with the Focus ST machinery and brings that knowledge into MB Motorsport, who will be using the car for the first time.
He also replaces Sam Osborne, who only scored 29 points at the end of last season in comparison to Hill’s 212 points.
“I’m also really pleased that the makeup of the team will allow me to continue working with the majority of the personnel from last year as well as working with Shaun [Hollamby] once more who helped me win my first podium back in 2018.
Hollamby, new Co-Owner of the Motorbase team and MB Team Principal added: “I’ve seen first-hand just how talented he is behind the wheel and I’m very pleased to have him back in one of my cars.
“His knowledge of the Ford will help drive us forward and, between him and Jake, I’m quietly confident that we’ll have a very memorable season,” after Jackson stood seventh in the Independents’ standings.
The team recently entered a joint partnership with Motorbase’s change of ownership to source the Ford Focus STs in replacement of the outgoing Honda Civic Type R FK2s.
The 2021 season will begin at the beginning of May, at Thruxton circuit.
