LCR have now revealed their second 2021 MotoGP bike, showing off the colours Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami’s Idemitsu-backed Honda.
A day after revealing Alex Marquez’s Castrol sponsored Honda, LCR revealed their second bike in an online presentation.
Nakagami’s Honda RC213V bike looks similar to its predecessors of recent years, but unlike his previous seasons in the MotoGP class, the Japanese rider will be riding a 2021-spec Honda, rather than an older model.
The 29-year-old achieved his best season in the premier class in 2020, finishing 10th in the world championship, as the highest Honda rider.
Nakagami also claimed his first pole position in MotoGP during the 2020 campaign at Aragon, and proved to Honda that should be provided with their latest equipment for 2021.
The Honda rider has come on in leaps on bounds since joining the premier class with LCR, finishing 20th in the championship in his rookie season, then 13th, and finally 10th in 2020.
Speaking during the presentation, Nakagami said he believes he can achieve his first podium finish in 2021, and possibly achieve victories.
“I’m really excited to have the latest bike,” the Japanese rider said.
“I want to say thanks for this opportunity.
“I hope to give podiums and maybe even victories to Lucio [Cecchinello].”

In 2020, Nakagami signed a multi-year deal to remain with LCR from 2021 onwards, showing he has the confidence of the team behind him.
LCR Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello said in the presentation he believes Nakagami will have the potential to fight with the top riders this year.
“For the very first time Taka will have the latest spec of the Honda factory machine,” he said.
“He will have the same bike of the other riders.
“So I do believe that he can have the potential to stay always with the top riders and bringing more podiums to LCR history.
