Jesse Glickenhaus reflects on ‘fantastic’ Monza test for 007 LMH

Jesse Glickenhaus, Managing Director of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, reflects on the 007 LMH’s positive second outing at Monza on 4-5 March.

The American marque are expected to debut into the FIA World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in May.

They have been conducting testing on their SCG 007 LMH with two days at Monza defining the car’s second track outing after Vallelunga on February 25-26.

“The day was fantastic,” said Managing Director of SCG, Jesse Glickenhaus.

“To be able to run so many laps, only doing routine new car calibrations on minor electrical things is fantastic.

“The drivers are all very excited by the car’s potential.”

Drivers Romain Dumas, Pipo Derani and Ryan Briscoe spent the duration of the test further acclimatising themselves with the 007 LMH.

The trio spent the day “starting to get comfortable in the car” with the team “continuing to make minor set up changes (like the aero tests conducted/compared against existing wind tunnel data) and calibrations to get absolutely everything out of the car.”

Their LMH project partners Joest Racing, Pipo Moteurs, Podium Engineering and Sauber were also present.

He continued: “Some OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), that spent 100x more than we did to create their LMP1 take it out and cannot run 3 laps in the first 2 days.

“For us to run 20 laps in the very first day ever and many dozens of laps in every day after that is a huge success.

“The WEC gives a performance window for the vehicles and teams decide how and where in this performance window they want to target their vehicles.

“We have decided on our strategy and are falling precisely in the performance window where we want to fall.”

SCG are set to conduct another track outing on 15-16 March before heading to the Prologue and the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
