Hamilton remains with Team HARD on one-year deal

Nic Hamilton will continue in BTCC with Team HARD during 2021, completing the teams four-driver line-up in the brand new Cupra Leon.

The 28-year-old, who made his BTCC debut in 2015, enters his second season with Team HARD, after joining the team at the beginning of 2020.

Hamilton’s first year with the team also brought him his first-ever BTCC point, after finishing 15th in Race 3 of the second round at Brands Hatch GP.

The Stevenage-born driver went on to finish 29th in the championship.

With the deal announced, Hamilton says he looks forward to the year ahead, especially to get behind the wheel of the Cupra Leon.

“I am enormously proud to be back on the BTCC grid this year,” he said in a press release.

“A lot of hard work and physical conditioning ensures I can participate in the sport
and I am grateful to ROKiT Phones, ABK Beer and my other partners for their continued support and belief in me.

“Having accomplished some great personal results last year, in what was a difficult car to drive, I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of our new Cupra Leon and start a new chapter with Team HARD.”

Entering his third full season on the BTCC grid, Hamilton’s progress and development in the championship is well underway.

Tony Gilham, Managing Director of Team HARD, is optimistic that the Hertfordshire driver can have a strong 2021 campaign.

“It’s great that Nic has chosen to remain with the team for the 2021 season,” he said.

“He was a fantastic asset last season and his determination was rewarded with his best qualifying position and first BTCC points finish at Brands Hatch.

“These results only act as optimism about what we can achieve together this year in our all new Cupra Leon.”

Hamilton will take to Brands Hatch on March 23 for a shakedown test in the Cupra Leon.
