Toyota GAZOO Racing UK has uncovered the new liveries on their Toyota Corollas which will race in the 2021 British Touring Car Championship.
The pair of the BTCC hatchback contenders now feature a livery wrap reminiscing the Japanese brand’s GAZOO Racing motorsport division colours seen in the WRC and the WEC.
A livery featuring Motul as their primary sponsor was already teased earlier in the year but as two-dimensional digital images of the appearance.
Ex-Independent’s Champion Rory Butcher, now driver for the team, reacted to the livery:
“It’s typically Toyota, and it looks so cool with the red and black lines against a white background – it’s unmistakably a member of the Toyota GAZOO Racing family.
“It will definitely stand out on the BTCC grid, and I’m so excited to be carrying such iconic colours this year.”
The Corolla is now into its third season having proved a title-contending racer albeit as a pair of hatchbacks on this year’s grid.
Butcher’s teammate, Sam Smelt, added:
“I was at the team workshop when they were just starting the wrapping process, so it’s fantastic to now see the Corolla up close in the flesh with my name on the side.
“I think it looks really striking and reinforces the team’s ties with Toyota Gazoo Racing, a brand that has become synonymous with success in recent years.
“That’s a really powerful association and great motivation for all of us.”
Both drivers are set to attend three private testing sessions, with Donington Park later this week, followed by Snetterton and Brands Hatch.
Now that all driver announcements have been made, the sequence of team and livery launches will count down to pre-season testing at Silverstone and the opening round at Thruxton.
