Reigning LMP2 teams’ and drivers’ champions United Autosports topped the morning session on the first day of testing at the Season 9 Prologue.

The first on-track session of the Season 9 FIA World Endurance Championship ended prematurely by 25-minutes due to three red flag periods and two incidents at Raidillon.

Minutes into this two-hour session, the first red flag was caused by reigning drivers’ champion Filipe Albuquerque beaching his Oreca 07 on a sausage kerb, but the car made it back to the pits safely and suffered little damage.

The next red flag period occurred an hour later with the #33 TF Sport of Ben Keating hitting the Radillon barrier in his first time in AMR machinery.

Their Aston Martin Vantage GTE suffered major front end damage after its impact but Keating walked safely away to the medical car.

The next and session-ending crash was another impact with the Raidillon barrier by another TF Sport-backed GTE-Am.

The debuting #777 D’station Racing team was piloted by Satoshi Hoshino when it crashed 10 minutes after the green flag. He walked away from his impact, leaving TF Sport a great deal of repair work this morning.

The #22 United Autosport went fastest outright with a time of 2m04.968s after completing 15 laps, thus leading the 14 LMP2 cars that are present.

The quickest out of the three Le Mans Hypercars was the #8 Toyota GAZOO Racing with a time of 2m06.896s and also 15 laps completed of their new GR010 Hybrid.

The #92 Porsche GT Team topped GTE-Pro, and the whole field of GTEs with a time 2m14.198s and 17 laps completed during the course of the session.

In the lowest category of the WEC, GTE-Am, it was the #47 Cetilar Racing who sat at the top with a 2m14.509s and 21 laps completed in the team’s first GTE-Am outing.
