French GP: FP4 ends with Quartararo on top for Yamaha

Qualifying is now just moments away and it’s Fabio Quartararo who has ended the final practice session of the French GP on top.

The conditions in Le Mans continue to throw up inconsistency, with the weather changing from wet to dry and then back to wet again as FP4 progressed.

Only three riders had set a lap time at the ten minute mark of the session, with the majority of riders choosing to remain in the pits as the rain came.

It was a very quiet session for the large part but that didn’t stop riders finding the limit as both Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez crashed at different corners in the final four minutes.

Quartararo put a 1m32.857s lap to go fastest in the closing stages, with Alex Rins and Franco Morbidelli behind the Frenchman.

The two Honda’s of Espargaro and Marquez ended fourth and fifth, with Miguel Oliveira behind in sixth.

Joan Mir ended FP4 in seventh, with the two LCR Honda’s of Taka Nakagami and Alex Marquez behind the Suzuki.

Iker Lecuona rounded off the top-ten ahead of Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini.

Valentino Rossi finished FP4 in 13th, Danilo Petrucci and Brad Binder ended the session behind the Italian.

After setting laps at the beginning of the session, Johann Zarco settles for 16th, with Jack Miller and Aleix Espargaro in 17th and 18th.

The second Aprilia of Lorenzo Savadori set a lap to end 19th ahead of Luca Marini.

Pecco Bagnaia and Tito Rabat round off the FP4 timesheets of the French GP in 21st and 22nd.
