Italian GP: Nakagami tops warm-up ahead of race

Taka Nakagami has topped the warm-up session ahead of today’s Italian GP for the LCR Team in perfect conditions around Mugello.

The threat of rain has now disappeared meaning the riders have perfect weather conditions heading into the race this afternoon.

The only crash of the session came five minutes in as Joan Mir found himself in the gravel at Turn 11.

Nakagami set a 1m46.746s lap which put him at the top of the leaderboard ahead of Johann Zarco and Brad Binder who settle for second and third.

Alex Rins put his Suzuki in fourth, with Maverick Vinales and Marc Marquez behind the Spaniard.

Alex Marquez ended warm-up seventh fastest, Danilo Petrucci, Enea Bastianini and Aleix Espargaro rounded off the top-ten.

Pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo crossed the line with a time that put him 11th ahead of Pecco Bagnaia.

After his crash early on, Mir settled for 13th on the timesheets ahead of Miguel Oliveira who had a mechanical issue during the session and was forced to pull off the track.

Michele Pirro finished in 15th with the Petronas SRT duo of Franco Morbidelli and Valentino Rossi in 16th and 17th.

Pol Espargaro put his Honda in 18th, Jack Miller and Iker Lecuona ended warm-up of the Italian GP 19th and 20th.

Luca Marini and Lorenzo Savadori rounded off the timesheets in 21st and 22nd.
