Catalan GP race winner Miguel Oliveira has ended Friday’s running of the German GP on top of the leaderboard in a good session for KTM.
The Portuguese rider was fastest in the first runs with a 1m21.496s lap, before Marc Marquez went faster in the second half of the session.
A flurry of fast times were set in the final five minutes and in the end a 1m20.690s lap from Oliveira was enough to put him top ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales.
Alex Rins ended in fourth, with Pol Espargaro finishing as the fastest Honda in fifth ahead of Taka Nakagami.
Aleix Espargaro put his Aprilia in seventh, to go faster than Johann Zarco and Jack Miller.
Franco Morbidelli rounded off the top-ten ahead of Danilo Petrucci and the two Marquez brother’s of Marc and Alex in 12th and 13th.
Jorge Martin finished in 14th ahead of Brad Binder, with Joan Mir and Iker Lecuona.
Luca Marini had a couple of crashes in FP2, at Turn 13 and Turn 7, he ended in 18th ahead of Enea Bastianini and Lorenzo Savadori.
Valentino Rossi and Pecco Bagnaia ended 21st and 22nd.
