A deal has been confirmed which will see the Russian Grand Prix take place at the new Autodrom Igora Drive Circuit on the outskirts of St. Petersburg.
Designed by Hermann Tilke, the new permanent facility will replace the outgoing location at the Sochi Autodrom which has been on the calendar since 2014.
The track received its FIA Grade 1 status at the end of 2020 and will become the second venue to host the Russian Grand Prix.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “I am pleased to confirm following joint intensive work with our Russian partners and detailed assessment of Igora Drive – Formula 1 will be racing at that amazing circuit from 2023.
“I am impressed by St Petersburg and believe that the Russian Grand Prix at Igora Drive will be an incredible event.”
More details are set to be revealed in the approaching months as this year’s Sochi race will take place on September 26.
