Wayne Boyd will make his Le Mans 24 Hours debut with United Autosports’ #23 entry at the race on August 21/22.
The Briton completes the line-up in United’s third Oreca 07-Gibson entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race next month, Round 4 of the Season 9 calendar.
His fellow teammates will be Alex Lynn and reigning LMP2 Le Mans winner with United Autosports, Paul Di Resta.
After FIA WEC regular, and endurance rookie Fabio Scherer tested positive for COVID-19 at Portimao (before the race weekend), the reigning LMP3 Asian Le Mans Series champion stepped in to make his FIA WEC debut.
“I am so unbelievably excited to be making my Le Mans debut this year and with such a mega line up with Paul Di Resta and Alex Lynn,” said the United Autosports regular in a release.
“Massive thanks to Zak [Brown], Richard [Dean] and United for giving me such an opportunity. Le Mans is one of my favourite circuits and luckily, I’ve had a decent amount of mileage around the track with doing the Le Mans Cup the last two years.

“We were on pole last year in LMP3 by seven tenths so I’m confident I’ll be up to speed quickly.”
His Le Mans 24 Hours commitment will prevent him from joining John Schauerman at the Road to Le Mans event this year as part of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, but Boyd extended his thanks as a replacement will be announced soon.
He concluded: “It’s a great opportunity for me to be racing with the 2020 Le Mans winners.
“The team had such a great season last year and I’m hoping to be able to contribute to that this year.”
