Andy Neate has withdrawn from Oulton Park after struggling to regain his fitness since his recovery from COVID-19 during the five-week break.
The Motorbase Performance driver will not participate during any of the three races at Oulton Park this weekend.
He tested positive for COVID-19 during the five-week break since Brands Hatch Indy and prioritised a recovery in advance of Oulton Park.
The 46-year-old tested negative for COVID-19 this weekend, but the team say he has struggled to regain his fitness in time for Rounds 10-12 and will take no further part than qualifying yesterday.
Pete Osborne, Co-Owner at Motorbase, said: “I’m gutted for Andy today but it is definitely the right decision.
“It’s such a shame as Andy was looking forward to this weekend after the break but Andy’s health is far more important than anything right now.
“Andy will now focus on getting fit in time for our trip to Knockhill in two weeks time.”
This is the second time Neate will be taking a break from the seat after he missed Snetterton, being replaced by Jessica Hawkins, following his crash at the Thruxton opener.
However, no replacement driver will be on-hand for this weekend’s proceedings.
The next race weekend on the calendar will be Knockhill in Scotland on 14/15 August.
