The #708 Glickenhaus Racing LMH set the fastest lap of the five-hour afternoon session to conclude the pre-Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day.

The sunlight from the morning continued to bathe the Circuit de la Sarthe during a final session to conclude nine hours of Le Mans’ Test Day before the proceedings commence with FP1 next Wednesday.

It was a smoother running overall compared to the incident-filled morning session as teams settled further into the base performance of their race craft.

Michael Fassbender got his first taste of the Le Mans circuit with the #77 Dempsey-Proton Competition having done 6 laps in their Porsche 911 RSR.

There was a safety car and three FCY periods deployed, the former being a scheduled test of the procedure.

A few minor incidents triggered the FCY such as towards the end when the #91 of Gianmaria Bruni had slight contact with the barriers after putting a wheel off the circuit at the Porsche Curves.

Brendon Hartley in the #8 initially set the pace as the first of the Hypercars to venture into the 3m29s.

Both GR010 Hybrids were running smoothly, as was the #36 Alpine A480 Gibson.

The #709 SCG 007 LMH was getting into its long runs at a slightly lesser pace compared to the #708.

Speaking of which, Olivier Pla topped the times towards the closing stages with a 3m29.115s, almost entering the 28s bracket.

They are the first American manufacturer to go fastest during a session at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Both Glickenhaus LMHs hit the highest top speed of the session, an identical 331.84 km/h from the two.

Longer runs were also an LMP2 theme as the Le Mans rookies like Fabio Scherer of the #22, Kevin Magnussen of the #49, and Robert Kubica in the #41, all came to terms with their machinery.

The #48 IDEC Sport was fastest with a 3m31.105s and 63 laps done.

It’s sister Oreca 07-Gibson, the #17, completed no laps after their damage from the contact this morning with WRT’s #41.

WeatherTech Racing topped the GTE-Pro category with a time of 3m52.938s having accumulated 44 laps.

The #63 which had an electrical issue in the morning ended up doing 13 laps.

The #99 Proton Competition led the GTE-Am class when Harry Tincknell set a time of 3m54.472s, the Porsche completing a total of 53 laps.
