Rory Butcher commanded Round 22 of the British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone National to finish ahead of Tom Ingram.
At lights out, Rory Butcher lost out on his pole position due to the wet patch of road in front of him thus allowing Tom Ingram to charge past.
Meanwhile towards the back, Andy Neate sliced his Ford Focus’ tyre open after just one corner to mark a DNF.
Butcher’s teammate Sam Smelt, and Team Dynamics’ Gordon Shedden, were also out of the race on the first lap.
Both Power Maxed Racing Astras charged confidently with Dan Lloyd holding the fastest lap for the first few laps, as well as making up places up to third only four laps into the race.
Butcher managed to dive up the inside of a napping Ingram at Brooklands to reclaim his race lead from the Hyundai on the fifth lap.
Star of Croft, Jake Hill, was facing the effects of his 66 kg weight ballast and only made it up to 18th position.
Team HARD’s Aron Taylor-Smith made up eight positions by Lap 15.
Carl Boardley managed to fight his way through the field in an impressive display, and Jack Butel in the EXCELR8 Hyundai who also fought through the field.
By Lap 21, Tom Chilton and Jake Hill had a clash together which enabled Jack Goff in the Cupra to close up and keep them both on edge for the remainder of the race.
Rory Butcher came home to take a commanding victory after 22 laps of racing, followed by Tom Ingram and Dan Lloyd with a maiden podium this season.
Both Power Maxed Racing Astras finished in the top-10 to mark a strong opening to the day.
