MB Motorsport has moved to a BMW 330e M Sport package for their 2022 season as Jake Hill has been retained for his third year at the team.
The switch from their Ford Focus STs to a pair of BMW 330e entries marked a new partnership with West Surrey Racing.
Hill will also compete in a rear-wheel drive BTCC car for the first time after he re-signed with MB Motorsport.
He said: “Thanks to some incredible support and brilliant people around me, the last few seasons in the BTCC have just been getting better and better and I truly believe that working with MB Motorsport powered by ROKiT (a new title sponsor) alongside WSR means that anything is possible again for 2022.
“It has always been a dream of mine to work alongside WSR and BMW, I think I can be honest and say it is for pretty much every driver who aspires to be in the BTCC.
“To now have made that possible in 2022 thanks to some amazing people, I couldn’t be more grateful.
“I’ve been presented with an incredible opportunity and it’s now down to me to make the most of it.”
The 2021 season was his most successful year in the championship after securing nine podiums and two race victories.
With regular points finishes, he was amongst the genuine overall title contenders and he finished fifth in the standings by the end on 295 points.
WSR Team Principal Dick Bennetts respected Hill’s form ahead of the drive4 ninth BTCC season.
“I have been incredibly impressed with Jake’s development as a driver in recent years both in and out of the BTCC, and his arrival into the WSR family alongside MB Motorsport powered by ROKiT is a real coup ahead of the new season.
“We have long had a good relationship with Mark Blundell and his team and we are looking forward to building out a really strong partnership with them alongside ROKiT and their loyal partners as we enter a new era for the BTCC.”
Hill’s third year at the team officially commences at the Donington Park season-opener on 23/24 April.
