Dan Lloyd has joined EXCELR8 Trade Price Cars for his second full British Touring Car Championship season after his PMR campaign last year.
The 29-year-old visited the podium four times in his first full season last year for Power Maxed Racing.
He made his BTCC debut at three Croft rounds in 2010, followed by nine rounds in the middle of the 2016 season, then the first half of 2017.
During the 2018 season, he was absent at the first three events but acclaimed his first and only race victory thus far in his BTCC career.
Lloyd said: “Although I’ve been involved in the BTCC for a number of years, last year was my first opportunity to really show my full potential across the season.
“My main goal this year is to become a more consistent front-runner and I feel that EXCELR8 has the full package to help me to achieve this.
“I’m hoping to learn as much as I can from the team and as quickly as possible transfer that into results on the track.
“It’s going to be great to have Tom [Ingram] as a team-mate and to be able to lean on his experience whilst getting used to the new (i30 N Performance Fastback) car,” having driven the Vauxhall Astra last year.
“I’d like to take the chance to thank the Power Maxed Racing team and all the team fans for their support last season.
“There are many factors in the background that made me take this decision to switch, but I wish them all the best for the up and coming season.”
Following his and Tom Ingram’s confirmation in the team’s maiden journey into the new hybrid era, two seats remain to be confirmed.
The season opener will be at Donington Park on 23-24 April where he will commence his second full season of the BTCC.
In the meantime, he will take on an extensive pre-season testing programme to prepare for it.
