Hawkey confirmed with T3 Motorsport Lamborghini DTM drive

Esmee Hawkey is confirmed for her second DTM season at the same team since making her debut last year with T3 Motorsport.

The 23-year-old Briton will take on the DTM’s second year in the GT3-Plus era once again in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo run by T3 Motorsport.

After winning the Porsche Carrera GB Cup (Pro-Am) title in 2020, she pursued her first motorsport campaign in a GT3 car.

She claimed two points at Assen during her 16-race debut campaign, and is seeking more points finishes this year with the same number of sprint rounds.

Hawkey said: “In 2021, I loved every second, my first year in GT3 machinery and my first time racing at many international race tracks.

“I have learned a great deal with the T3 Motorsport team. Therefore, I am overjoyed to be returning to DTM this year.”

T3 Team Principal Jens Feucht is looking upwards on Hawkey’s progression in DTM, also pushing for a second T3 Lamborghini entry to happen.

“We are really happy that we can continue our involvement with Esmee.

“She absolutely convinced us in the past season and is a real asset to our team and also to DTM in every way.

“We are particularly happy to be part of DTM again, a series that we have come to appreciate as a worldwide unique race series.”

She is the only confirmed female driver so far to compete in DTM’s 36th season.

The first official test days will be at Hockenheim in early April, and the season will begin in Portimao from 29 April-1 May.
