Porsche works driver Laurens Vanthoor will make his DTM debut in the upcoming season alongside fellow Porsche-contracted driver Dennis Olsen.
Vanthoor has competed in several endurance accolades as a GT driver securing IMSA GTD and GTLM victories.
Other victories include the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018 (GTE-Pro), and in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup and FIA GT Series.
He joined 25-year-old Dennis Olsen to finish third in the GTD-Pro category at the 24 Hours of Daytona earlier this year.
With Porsche having already announced their DTM entrance last year, Vanthoor was excited for the season ahead.
“I am massively looking forward to the season”, Vanthoor commented.
“The team has made a name for itself in the sport within a really short time and I am looking forward to working with them now.
“The season will certainly not be easy because competition is really strong.
“Nevertheless, it is our ambition to be successful.
“For me, being alone in the car is a while ago, motivation is accordingly high.”
Olsen, who had his notable success at the Bathurst 12 Hours and Kyalami 9 Hours races, was enthusiastic for his DTM debut.
He added: “I am very much looking forward to DTM. For me, racing in such a strong field of drivers is a great challenge.”
The 30-year-old will drive the #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R, whilst Olsen will be in the #94.
Both drivers will take on the full 2022 season calendar, featuring eight rounds and 16 races.
Their maiden campaigns will begin at Portimao, Portugal on 29 April-1 May, and will finish at the Hockenheimring in October.
